Z Microsystems unveils next
generation smart display fusing state-of-the-art display technology
with workstation-class computing power in one compact package.

Diego, California (January 10, 2007) Field-ready computing specialist Z
Microsystems announced today that it has launched its new line of
powerful, space-saving smart display systems. The rugged MIL-SPEC
Integrated Display Station (IDS) is a large format, high definition
display and scalable workstation-class computer integrated into a
single chassis. Ideal for graphic and video intensive applications, the
IDS can be configured for naval, airborne and land-based platforms.
An
evolutionary response to the military's demand for ever-expanding
computing power in increasingly restrictive spaces, the IDS eliminates
the need for separate workstation and display configurations--freeing
up valuable space, reducing weight and eliminating complex cabling.
Redundant security features, including a front removable hard drive and
SmartCard reader protect sensitive data and control user access. A
long-life COM Express module "future proofs" the IDS by seamlessly
accommodating the latest processor upgrades, while a removable power
supply facilitates ease of maintenance. Three PCI expansion slots and a
host of easily accessible I/O ports provide the scalability and
configurability to meet a variety of net-centric warfare requirements.
Available
in expansive 20.1" and 21.3" sizes, the display subsystem offers
brilliant 1600 x 1200 native pixel resolution shielded by a
quick-release protective lens. With up to six independently
controllable input feeds and up to six Picture-in-Picture video
inserts, one IDS can replace six standard displays for additional space
and weight savings. Combine advanced hardware with intuitive SoftMenu
controls and a touch screen and the Integrated Display Station becomes
a powerful efficient tool for C4ISR, battlefield management and
situational awareness applications.
